Stuffed Animal Sleepover

KCC hosted its first annual Stuffed Animal Sleepover at the Del Webb Library last night! Twenty-five stuffies signed up to explore the library overnight and were dropped off by their best human friend (BHF) on Tuesday morning. The fuzzy friends relaxed on a sleeping bag while LOTS of humans made bookmarks during a KCC event. By 4:00, they were all awake and their adventure began! Our friends started their night by exploring the library and picking out some fun sleepover-themed books to read!

After that, it was time to make friendship bracelets. They all picked out some of their favorite colors and created two bracelets: one for themself and one for their best human buddy!

By 5:00, it was time for a Puppet Show, hosted by the Kindness Confetti Crew leaders Savannah and Molly! They even got into the snack buckets that KCC had shared with the librarians last week… Oops! (Don’t worry, we found out later that they had permission!)

Despite a small snack, the stuffies were STILL HUNGRY!! (We think they got that idea from a book they read about a hungry caterpillar…) They ordered pizza and had a delicious picnic dinner! Well, everyone except Webs the Spider had pizza. We learned that Webs is allergic to pizza, so he had a DELICIOUS salad!

After dinner, it was Reading Time with Ms. Renee, the new children’s librarian! All of the stuffies put on their listening ears and LOVED hearing Ms. Renee read some great sleepover stories they had chosen earlier including Sleepover Duck, Froggie’s Sleepover, and The Great Dinosaur Sleepover! Oh, and the stuffies wanted us to tell everyone that if you haven’t met Ms. Renee, you should definitely come to the Del Webb Library and meet her. She’s super sweet!

After reading, Ms. Renee showed the stuffies the library’s collection of puzzles, and they decided to put one together! They chose a firetruck, which we thought was super cool since KCC had just given the Indian Land Fire Department a bucket full of goodies last week - and they gave us a tour of their fire truck!  The stuffies loved hearing all about the KCC adventures!

After Puzzle Time, the stuffies were off to explore another fun part of the library: the Library Fish Tank! AND the fish tank is right next to a place where their human friends can color a paint decoration to go on the wall to tell everyone about the Summer Reading program! They were super excited to hear about summer reading because they LOVE to snuggle with their BHF (best human friend) while they read!

It was starting to get dark in the library, so the stuffies built a campfire and roasted marshmallows! They told each other stories about their human families at home. What fun they’ve had!

After the campfire, the stuffies were getting SUPER tired, so they got ready to go to sleep. Even though they had made lots of new stuffie friends, we didn’t want any of them to feel lonely without their best human friend during the night… so we gave each stuffie its own special blankie to snuggle with!

When they get picked up by their best human friend later this morning, they’ll have several special gifts - matching friendship bracelets (one for the stuffie and one for their BHF), stickers, a bookmark, their blankie, and a photo - to help them remember how much fun they had at the First Annual KCC Stuffed Animal Sleepover!
